2026 Mission Trip

Monday, March 2

Today we began our journey to visit the Mafi-Kumase community market. This is the market where the women shop each week for supplies to provide for their families. The families work diligently in their fields, growing crops to sell at the market.

There was an abundance of cassava, beans, rice, and palm oil, along with fresh fruit, coconuts, dried fish, and even charcoal used for cooking. We learned so much about the local culture and everything involved in preparing and setting up the market, as well as the experience of the women who shop there. It’s quite different from our grocery stores!

We had a wonderful time. Each of us had our own interpreter who explained the different food items to us. Augustine, Pastor Senyo’s wife prepared a lovely picnic lunch for us, which made the day even more special.

We are now safely back at our hotel and have had a wonderful dinner. Today it’s been very hot and humid with a short rain shower this evening. We are looking forward to a good nights rest and a busy day tomorrow. Stay tuned and check back as we share more of our trip. Remember us in your prayers!
