This afternoon brought such incredible joy—Kpevenu-Tsati once again has clean drinking water.
It’s been nearly a year since the well pump broke, forcing the community to return to their old, contaminated water source. When our team visited earlier this month, we asked our partner to find a repair company to inspect the well and provide an estimate. Through much prayer and the generosity of so many, the funds were sent, and the contractor arrived on Friday, March 20 to begin the work.
After removing the pump, they discovered that the shaft had broken loose and fallen deep into the well casing. This meant additional help was needed, and they had to return on Monday. Heavy rains delayed their progress, but on Tuesday they made it back and worked tirelessly all day until they were finally able to retrieve the shaft.
On Wednesday morning, everything came together—the shaft was reconnected, the pump reassembled, and the system tested. Water began to flow again.
We are overwhelmed with gratitude for answered prayers and for each person who gave to make this possible. What a beautiful blessing for this community.
